Would you consider 5K roundtrip to Hawaii visiting 4 Islands expensive?

Visiting 4 Islands with the following details:
9 Days Total
3 Days in Maui
2 Days each in Oahu, Big Island and Kauai
Airfare, hotel accommodations, free breakfast in few of the hotels.
The car rentals on each island and the transport between islands also included in the 5k price.
Going September 2011.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Absolutely! In a word, yes.

Depends on the quality of the hotels, but in general, yes, that's a pretty good deal.

yes…you should be in the presidential suites and driving the top of the line sports cars for that price

figure nice hotels are $200 a night and up, car rental about $70 a day… If it's just one person it could cost that with some activities thrown in but double occupancy no way

Partly depends on how many people it's for.

I consider $5000 expensive. But for that particular trip for 2 people, if the hotels and everything are decent, that's potentially a good deal. Depends on more specifics of what's included.

Sounds kind of nuts to me. I mean, when you talk about 2 days each on most of the islands, one of each of those two days you're going to be traveling. That might eat up a lot of your day. If I were you I'd cut it down to two islands at most. If you're trying to see "all" of Hawai'i, well, having only one full day on each island won't let you see all of that island, so you really haven't had a more complete Hawai'i experience anyway. In any case, if you're thinking about blowing $5k on a trip, I'm guessing you have the financial means to make more than one trip to Hawai'i in your lifetime, so you can see some other islands the next time. Plus I think you will save some money by reducing the number of islands you visit.

Aloha from Maui,
As a travel agent for the past 20 years I would have the following questions if this is a good price for your trip to Hawaii and 4 islands:
Is this for 2 people?
What city are your flying out of?
What size car? Does it include all taxes?
What type of hotel, what is the view type?

This wouldn't be a package I would personally have chosen for my clients because you are trying to do too much in too little time. You would be better off doing the cruise interisland and seeing all the islands in a week and spending a day or two post stay.

If you are not a cruise type person I would suggest limiting your trip to 3 islands and staying a little longer on each island.

Have a great trip to Hawaii and don't wait too long to book this. Normally Sept. is a really slow time of year here in Hawaii but there year there is a few events happening that are snapping up all the best prices and flight times.
